About this role Our Medical Director abides by the security regulations of The Company and the regulations of the institution to which assigned. Provides required documentation of services to the Regional or Corporate Medical Director or designee in order to monitor services provided and compliance with facility/client contract. Notifies Regional or Corporate Medical Director and Health Services Administrator or designee of schedule changes in schedule coverage. Assists in arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for extended period of time. Additional Details 1.Our site is a HUB and we receive 20 -30 inmates per week, they are quickly shipped thru out the state. Our male only population is approx. 1950 inmates at this time. We have a 16 bed infirmary, 6 POC cells, and busy restricted housing unit. We are only 2 levels at this facility and have many wheelchair bound inmates and high acuity illnesses.2.On a typical day, the doctor will round in the infirmary, also see 8 inmates on their line, review our EMR and do administrative assignments too.3.The SMD will take call/round 1 weekend per month during that week he/she is on call until the next weekend. Sometimes, he/she may need to round or take call for the needs of the dept. for emergency time off, vacation, etc.4.Must put in 40 hours per week.5.We have 3 new, recently graduated mid levels that he/she will supervise. They have been here ranging 6 month - 1 year. The SMD is responsible for directing, educating and reviewing the mid levels. What you bring to the table Education:
Medical school graduate
Experience:
Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Public Health preferred Licenses/Certifications:
Current licensure within the State Maintains a current DEA number Current CPR certification Must maintain privileges Maintains CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State What you will do Reports to assigned facility at designated hour to examine referred patients. Visits the infirmary daily when on-site and records encounters in the patient's progress notes. Ensures progress note documentation in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or on approved paper form is in SOAP format, problem oriented, corresponds to the therapeutic order and is legible, if handwritten. Ensures all documentation is dated, timed, problem oriented and encounters in EMR are locked with document made or legible and signed, if handwritten.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
